If you need a concrete yard to be installed, we can design and construct one to suit your specific requirements. Here’s an example of a recent concrete yard we did for a local farm.
Problem:
Based in a rural village in the midlands, Rushton Farm is an arable farm that produces potatoes and combinable crops. The owner, Bruce Ruston, wanted to extend the farm’s yard and change it from a gravel surface to a concrete one because he wanted to be able to use a forklift truck on it. The uneven, bumpy ground made it difficult to run a forklift truck on and there was also a danger that it could become stuck in the gravel and dirt.
Solution:
Cotterill Contractors installed a concrete yard measuring 1,235m2 whilst leaving the existing concrete and diesel tanks in situ. The concrete slab installed was 150mm deep with no steel reinforcement - we always recommend confirming with a structural engineer whether a steel reinforcement is needed.
The new and extended concrete yard now supports a forklift truck and provides a much smoother ride for the operator.
Bruce Rushton, commented: “Cotterill Contractors did a fantastic job for us. We were really pleased with the work they did and the fact that they honoured the contract conditions in full in spite of Covid and rising costs. We found them to be highly professional and reliable plus we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”
