External works for an industrial steel building

Updated: Nov 30, 2021

We’ve been helping to construct industrial steel buildings for almost 30 years. Here’s an example of a recent project we undertook to complete the externals of one based in Warwickshire.

About the business

Kajul Ltd is an engineering company that manufactures motor industry components to very high specification for premium manufacturers.

The challenge

They had recently moved premises to Blue Lias Industrial Estate in Southam, Warwickshire where they had built their own bespoke unit comprising of workshop area, offices, welfare facility, goods yard and car parking. A portal framed, insulated building had already been erected on site. Karl Hamil, the owner of Kajul, contacted us after he had received a recommendation by the steel frame provider and invited us to quote for the external works around the unit to make the site complete and usable.

What we did

We carried out the following work for the company:

  • Foul water drainage and sewage treatment plant commissioning

  • Stormwater drainage and attenuation

  • Perimeter kerbing

  • Car park area

  • Concrete yard and associated surface water drainage

  • Water supply connection

  • Electrical ducting

  • Pedestrian pathways

The results

Karl Hamlin, Owner of Kajul, commented: “Cotterill Civils did an excellent job for us. I was impressed with their speed of response and service. They came out to see us almost immediately and provided us with great advice on how we could get the job done for less. Within just a few days they had supplied us with a competitive price for the job.”

“What was great about working with Cotterill Civils was the fact that we had a dedicated project manager on the job with a mobile phone so that we could contact them at any time. They did everything they said they would do and more.”
